Jasin Avdyli arrested in Belgium after being sentenced to 12 years in prison in Albania over the “339” and “Volvo 4” case files

Jasin Kala, alias Jasin Avdyli, has been arrested in Belgium after being sentenced to 12 years in prison in Albania in connection with the “339” and “Volvo 4” case files. Avdyli was detained during an anti-drug operation carried out in cooperation between SPAK, the Albanian police and the Belgian authorities.

He had been convicted of involvement in a criminal group investigated as part of the “Volvo 4” case, with the charges also including activity linked to a heroin-processing laboratory in Has.

As part of the close cooperation between specialists from the Interpol Directorate and their counterparts in Belgium, during this phase of the international operation codenamed “The Wanted,” and based on information exchanged במסגרת an investigation into drug trafficking, the following individual was located and arrested in Belgium:

J. K., alias J. A., 58, resident of Shijak.

This citizen had been placed on an international wanted list by Interpol Tirana after the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, by a decision dated 04.04.2023, imposed the security measure “Arrest in prison” for the criminal offenses of “Production and sale of narcotics,” committed in the form of special cooperation, namely as part of a structured criminal group, “Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity,” “Structured criminal group,” and “Commission of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group.”

Investigations conducted by SPAK indicate that the 58-year-old is suspected of being part of a group that organized the trafficking of large quantities of narcotics and their subsequent sale in various countries. Investigations also indicate that the proceeds obtained from the criminal activity were invested by this citizen in 2 real estate properties (commercial premises) in Shijak.

Cooperation between Interpol Tirana and its counterparts in Belgium is continuing to finalize the procedures for extraditing the arrested citizen to Albania.
