Jakup Krasniqi’s sentencing in The Hague, wife speaks out: There is no one I have harmed

The Specialist Chambers in The Hague announced its verdict against Jakup Krasniqi a day earlier, sentencing him to 25 years in prison on war crimes charges.

In an interview with TCH, his wife, Sevdije Krasniqi, shared with the public the message that the former Kosovo Liberation Army leader conveyed to his family.

She said her husband had told her that he felt at peace because he had not committed any of the acts of which he was accused. He said that he had never harmed anyone and did not wish to harm himself either.

Sevdije Krasniqi added that the defense would appeal the verdict, although they do not have much faith in the court of first instance. She called on all Albanians to remain united and oppose this judicial institution.

The journalist also disclosed the full contents of the message Jakup Krasniqi sent to his family immediately after receiving his sentence from the Specialist Chambers.

In his message, Krasniqi states that there is no one in the world whom he has harmed and that he will not do so to himself either. He described the justice being administered as corrupt and serving Serbian interests, stressing that his sentence was based entirely on Serbia’s lies.
