Jakup Krasniqi’s nephew: Kosovo awaits the final decision, its history must remain unchanged

Less than 24 hours before the hearing at which the verdict against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is expected to be announced, Arian Krasniqi, the latter’s nephew, has reacted.

In a statement, he described Kosovo as being at a decisive moment for an important part of its history.

Arian Krasniqi stressed that the struggle for freedom and equality was just and arose from the suffering and sacrifices of the people, underlining that it should not be placed on the same footing as Serbian aggression. According to him, Kosovo Albanians were victims who sought freedom, dignity and the right to live freely. He expressed hope that the history of the people would be preserved as it is known by the world and as it was experienced by an entire people.

“Today, with hope and faith, we await the judgment. Let the truth of our history remain untouched,” he wrote.
