This Monday, Igli Tare appeared at the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) as part of the investigation into the “Balluku” case. Tare is under investigation for the criminal offense of money laundering, as he is suspected of having concealed a villa belonging to the former deputy prime minister in his name.

Belinda Balluku, a former subordinate of Rama, is suspected of having concealed a villa in Dhërmi in his name. The property was seized on the orders of SPAK.
SPAK suspects that Balluku received the villa as a bribe in connection with two tenders worth more than €1 million, at a time when she was heading “Albcontrol.”
SPAK says that the tenders for the reconstruction of the Albcontrol building were unlawfully awarded to the construction company “Eurocol,” and that in return Balluku received a villa on the Ionian coast.
