Interpol issues “red notice” for 39-year-old suspected in Monaco bombing, images show her disguised as a man and with a snake tattoo on her arm

Interpol has issued a “red notice” for the capture of 39-year-old Anastasia Berezovskaya, who is suspected of being involved in the bomb explosion that took place this week in Monaco, in which a businessman of Ukrainian origin was seriously injured along with two members of his family.

According to information from the authorities, the suspect is a Ukrainian citizen living in Germany and is believed to have been disguised as a man while carrying out the attack. Interpol’s description says she speaks German, has dark hair, and a snake-shaped tattoo on her right arm, from the shoulder to the elbow.

Interpol’s “red notice” is an international request to locate and arrest a suspect. Berezovskaya is wanted by the authorities in Monaco for attempted murder, placing an explosive device in a public place for criminal purposes, and involvement in a criminal plot.

Investigators say the explosive package was placed by the suspected perpetrator at the entrance of an apartment building in Monaco, near the border with France, on Monday evening. Just a few minutes later, at around 21:00 local time, the device exploded as three people, a couple and a 13-year-old child, were entering the building.

Prosecutors suspect the attack was detonated remotely precisely when the victims approached the building entrance. After that, the perpetrator left Monaco for France and then Germany, passing through several European countries, including Italy.

The authorities have not officially made public the identities of the injured, but according to police and judicial sources, they include 58-year-old Vadim Yermolaev, a businessman of Ukrainian origin with Cypriot citizenship, together with his partner and his son.

Monaco Deputy Prosecutor Morgan Raymond said the suspect had been living in Germany and that the complex nature of the explosive device, as well as the organization of the attack, had led investigators to suspect that she may not have acted alone.

Earlier this week, two people were arrested in Monaco, but they were released after no evidence was secured linking them to the incident.

German police said they had searched the 39-year-old’s home and her rental vehicle, where evidence was seized and will be handed over to the Monaco authorities. Despite this, she remains on the run.

In the initial phase of the investigation, suspicion fell on a man dressed in dark clothing, but security camera footage and witness statements later led investigators to conclude that it was a woman in disguise.

The photographs released as part of the “red notice” show a woman wearing a striped shirt, while in one of them she appears holding an electronic device with wires in her hand.

According to judicial sources, the suspect was later located in Frankfurt.
