Immediate Evacuation Ordered for Residents of Gojan i Madh Due to Fire

Residents of the village of Gojan i Madh, in the Gjegjan Administrative Unit, must leave the area immediately following the spread of a massive fire across the village territory. In the face of the direct threat to life and property, Pukë Municipality has issued an order for their evacuation.

The measure was taken in accordance with legislation on civil protection and civil emergency plans. It will be implemented in cooperation with the National Civil Protection Agency, the Prefect of Shkodër County, local civil emergency structures, the State Police and the fire service.

During the evacuation from the endangered area, priority will be given to children, infants, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and people with disabilities. The list of priorities also includes families living in isolated areas or those at greater risk from the spread of the flames.

The “Ali Bytyçi” Dormitory in Pukë has been designated as temporary accommodation for the evacuees. According to the municipality, arrangements have been made there for accommodation, food and medical services.

Residents will be transported using the logistical vehicles of Pukë Municipality, MZSH and the State Police. If further assistance is needed, the involvement of the Armed Forces is also envisaged.

At the center where the evacuees will be accommodated, they will be registered and their basic needs, such as food, clothing, hygiene and first aid, will be provided. Residents will receive periodic information about developments in the fire situation, as well as measures for their safe return home.

“This order is urgent and enters into force immediately,” stated the announcement by Pukë Municipality, signed by Mayor Rrok Dodaj.
