Ilir Deda criticizes LDK’s six MPs: They bear responsibility for the new elections

Analyst Ilir Deda has commented on the stance of the six LDK MPs who did not support the agreement with LVV.

According to Deda, the MPs should have made it clear from the outset of the negotiations that they would not vote for any possible agreement between the two parties.

He believes they should also have publicly presented their reasoning for holding new elections, describing them as primarily responsible for returning the country to parliamentary elections.

From the beginning of the talks between LDK and LVV, the six LDK MPs should have declared that they would not support any agreement between the two parties.

They could also have explained that they were determined for Kosovo to go to parliamentary elections again, while maintaining a consistent stance against the current government.

They should have argued at length why new elections would not serve LVV’s interests and why they would not harm LDK.

As institutionalists, they should have made their signatures available for a request to the Constitutional Court concerning the violation of the constitutional deadline for the constitution of the Assembly.

Meanwhile, three MPs from this group should have explained why the decisions of their party’s leadership in 2016 were binding on them, while the leadership’s decisions in 2026 are not considered binding.

In this way, they would have removed from themselves the heavy burden they have assumed as the main instigators of the country’s return to new parliamentary elections.
