Ilço Gjorgjioski Released from Detention on €500,000 Bail

The court has decided to release former Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) president Ilço Gjorgjioski from detention, replacing the measure with bail and precautionary measures.

The decision was confirmed by the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje, which announced that Gjorgjioski’s detention had been lifted.

To secure his release, Gjorgjioski posted a bank guarantee worth €500,000. According to the Criminal Court, the Prosecutor’s Office also issued a favorable opinion on accepting the guarantee and lifting the detention order.

Under these conditions, Gjorgjioski will await the continuation of the court proceedings while complying with the precautionary measures imposed.

Two other individuals, Tomislav Mladenovski and Gjoko Čubrinovski, have also been released from detention, the Criminal Court confirmed. Their detention was likewise replaced with bail and precautionary measures.

Another former FFM president, Muamed Sejdini, is also involved in the same case and had previously offered a guarantee of €1,000,000.

Although it was initially reported that Gjorgjioski would be placed under house arrest, the Criminal Court clarified in its response that his detention had been lifted and bail had been granted along with precautionary measures.

The court proceedings are continuing, while the defendants released from detention are required to comply with the measures imposed by the court.
