“I would have ethnically cleansed Kosovo during the war,” Pandeli Majko reacts after Serbian minister’s statement: Her sincerity is a continuation of Milosevic’s politics

The country’s former prime minister Pandeli Majko has reacted after the statement of Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Snezhana Paunoviç, who said that if she had had the same freedom of action as Milosevic in 1998, she would have “ethnically cleansed Kosovo”.

In a public reaction, Majko describes the Serbian minister’s statement as an indication of the continuity of a political approach linked to the Milosevic era and says it constitutes a burden for the Serbian government that seeks European integration.

“For our shortcomings and stupidity, if I had been free like Milosevic, I would have ethnically cleansed Kosovo in 1998,” declared the Serbian minister.

“Serbian Minister Snezhana Paunoviç has stated that ‘if she were in Slobodan Milosevic’s place in 1998, she would ethnically cleanse Kosovo.’

It is memories that define us! So no one should feel too “surprised” by the statement of Serbian Minister Snezhana Paunoviç! Meanwhile, this public statement (by a minister) is a “weight” on the Serbian government that seeks European integration!

The memory of a lost war makes peace frustrating! The Serbian minister has expressed with “sincerity” that collective will which, unfortunately, still exists within the political structures and the Serbian state!

The public sincerity of Minister Snezhana Paunoviç is not just “courage”, but also the continuation of a policy of a man like Slobodan Milosevic, imprisoned in The Hague for war crimes!

… Today, in The Hague, the commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army are also being tried! If Slobodan Milosevic were to carry out what the Serbian minister Snezhana Paunoviç publicly wishes, the defendants would not have to be tried today in The Hague! They would not be alive today!…
