An unusual situation unfolded during a court hearing in Milan, where 26-year-old Emanuela Maria Lamedica, known professionally as Lamedica, asked the judge to release her from her cell so she could promote her new song on social media.

The artist had been arrested following a complaint filed by her grandmother, who accused her of abuse and verbal insults. During the hearing on the precautionary measures against her, Lamedica told Judge Chiara Valori that she needed to return home because the song was due to be released on Spotify and needed to be promoted on Instagram.
“I need to post on Instagram to promote my song,” the 26-year-old said in essence.
The request prompted reactions and smiles in the courtroom. However, the judge assessed the case on the basis of the legal circumstances, rather than the artist’s professional commitments.
According to the defense, the charges relate to abusive behavior and verbal insults directed at the elderly woman. Lamedica’s lawyer clarified that the case did not involve a physical assault.
During the hearing, the artist also spoke about the conditions in her cell at San Vittore prison, where she had spent the night following her arrest.
She insisted that, in addition to dealing with her legal situation, she also had professional responsibilities to fulfill. The new song, “Maniere forti,” is part of her music project following the track “Barbie nel ghetto.”
At the end of the hearing, Judge Chiara Valori ordered the 26-year-old’s release from prison but imposed restrictions on her.
Lamedica will be monitored with an electronic bracelet and is prohibited from contacting her grandmother, who is considered the injured party in these proceedings.
Following the ruling, the artist returned home and resumed her social media activity, as she had said she would during the hearing.
She later posted promotional material for the new song on Instagram, describing it as one of the hits of 2026 and asking her followers to listen to it and share it.
“Share it with everyone, especially my enemies,” Lamedica wrote in one of her posts.
