Hoxha Meets with Gjuriq in Washington, Opposes Serbian Statements on Kosovo

Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, held a meeting with Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Marko Gjuriq, during his stay in Washington, as part of the Ministerial on the resurgence of political terrorism.

The two senior officials discussed the current situation and prospects for future developments.

In a post on the social media platform X, Hoxha said that during the conversation he had reiterated Albania’s position regarding what he described as unacceptable statements made about Kosovo by a member of the Serbian Government.

“I also reiterated Albania’s clear and firm position regarding the unacceptable and irresponsible statements recently made by a member of the Serbian Government, and stressed the need to unequivocally reject rhetoric that fuels tensions, undermines stability and regional cooperation, and runs counter to the spirit of good neighbourly relations and European values.

This is what diplomacy represents: engaging in open dialogue, looking each other in the eye, facing reality and addressing differences responsibly,” Hoxha wrote.
