Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Albrim Hoxha, responded in today’s parliamentary session to questions from MPs about food safety and the implementation of subsidies in the agricultural sector.
Speaking about food safety, Hoxha said that responsible authorities continue to conduct regular inspections. According to him, actions are taken in line with current legislation to protect citizens’ health and ensure high quality standards.

Regarding subsidies, he announced that pending payments will be made as soon as Parliament approves the budget rebalance, which is currently in parliamentary procedure.
“The rebalance will secure funds for the payment of subsidies for milk, tagged cattle, wheat, other grains, and field crops,” Hoxha stated.
He also informed that the Agency is in the final stages of testing new software, which will be used for the 2026 subsidy applications.
“In order not to harm any farmer, the application deadline has been extended until the end of September, and the system will open very soon, right after the final testing is completed,” Hoxha emphasized.
