Hoxha Calls for the Constitutive Session to Be Convened

Eliza Hoxha, an MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, has criticized acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, claiming that he and his ministers have usurped their positions and the institutions.

Speaking at a press conference outside the government building, where MPs from the PDK Parliamentary Group have gathered, Hoxha said their presence there was intended to demand an end to the institutional deadlock and the restoration of constitutional functioning.

According to her, instead of obstructing the work of the Assembly, Kurti should appear before it and clear the way for its constitution. Hoxha said that, as the winner of the latest elections, his main duty is to put forward a name so that the process of establishing the institutions can continue.

The PDK reiterated its demand that Kurti, as the representative of the party that secured the parliamentary majority, create the conditions for the process of constituting the Assembly to continue.

Hoxha stressed that neither Albin Kurti nor his party can place themselves above the state and the Constitution of Kosovo.

Finally, she called on Kurti and his MPs to return to the Assembly so that the 11th Legislature can begin and constitutional order can be restored.
