Hoti: LDK has no reason to replace Kujtim Shala as its deputy speaker candidate

Avdullah Hoti, a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo, said before the start of the Assembly session that his party would vote for the Assembly’s deputy speakers.

He said that the LDK had not changed its position on its candidate and that Kujtim Shala remained its nominee for the post.

Hoti stressed that while the speaker represents the entire Assembly of Kosovo and his election requires an agreement, the deputy speakers represent the largest parliamentary groups. According to him, the LDK has the right to decide for itself who will represent it on the Assembly Presidency, and there is no reason to change its candidate.

Asked whether he expected the Assembly of Kosovo to be constituted during the day, Hoti expressed optimism.

“I hope so,” he said.
