Heavy rain floods roads in Vlora; residents complain about blocked drains

Heavy rainfall, concentrated within just a few minutes, has caused water to accumulate in several areas of the city of Vlora. The situation is problematic in the Pavarësia neighborhood, as well as on other city streets, where traffic remains difficult and some road sections are covered with water.

The situation is particularly concerning in the Pavarësia neighborhood, where residents complain that the drains are blocked and, according to them, have filled with stones and other inert materials.

This is preventing the water from draining and causing it to remain on the streets and near homes for a long time.

Residents fear that if the rain continues at the same intensity or lasts for a longer period, the situation could worsen significantly, to the point where they are unable to enter their homes.

For this reason, they are calling for the channels to be cleaned and the drainage system improved, so that every heavy downpour does not become a problem for the community’s daily life.
