“He threatened me constantly” – The lawyer of the 24-year-old reveals new details about the killing in Ferizaj

A gunshot on the evening of June 28 shook a building in the center of Ferizaj.

Authorities are investigating a 24-year-old woman with the initials A.R. over the suspected killing of F.H., 32.

She has been ordered held in detention for 30 days on suspicion of the criminal offense of “Murder.”

In her statement at the police station, A.R. said that the victim had continuously threatened and blackmailed her.

Her defense lawyer, Genc Kadriu, described what the 24-year-old told investigators on the night the incident happened.

“She had been preparing dinner for her family when she received a message from the now deceased, whom she had known for a year. She received a message in which he wrote, ‘Wait for me because I am coming to your apartment now and I will kill you.’ He also attached a photo of the firearm to that message. Messages and photos sent through the social network Snapchat,” Kadriu said.

Her lawyer further said that as soon as she opened the apartment door, F.H. is suspected of having used violence against her, grabbing her by the hair and pushing her toward the kitchen.

“There were several glass bottles on the table, and during the struggle my client, with the intention of repelling the attack and, as she says, frightening the now deceased so that he would not continue the attack against her, broke the glass bottle and asked him not to come near her. She says that at that moment the deceased grabbed the glass bottle from her hand and struck her with it, causing bodily injuries: tears, cuts, scratches on different parts of her body,” Kadriu said.

According to the lawyer, the victim had kept A.R. under a constant sense of fear and threat.

Kadriu said that this very situation had caused her never to report the case to the Police.

“She stated that because of his threats that if she reported the case to the Police, I will quickly be released because I have had other cases where people were released, and then I will kill you and your sisters. According to my client, this created such fear that she then hesitated to report the threats, the blackmail, the demands that she bring him various sums of money, so that he would not publish intimate videos, since he had blackmailed her with some intimate videos he had of my client,” Kadriu emphasized.

According to him, the 24-year-old, who lives in France, had not come to Kosovo for vacation, but because of the pressure and threats that, according to the defense, were being made by the victim.

“She came here because of his threats, because of his blackmail; she came to offer him another sum of money, after he threatened that if she did not come and bring me this money, then I will publish the videos,” Kadriu said.

The lawyer also said that the 24-year-old’s emotional state is very grave.

“She is in a very severe emotional state, because it was not her intention to take the life of the now deceased. But according to her, everything happened in an instant… She expressed the wish not to testify at the hearing other than what she stated to the police,” Kadriu concluded.

According to the information known so far, the mother and father of the suspect are also believed to have been at the scene.
