Albulena Haxhiu, speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, welcomed the government’s decision to establish a Working Group that will coordinate institutional support for the former KLA leaders during the appeal process against the Hague ruling.

Haxhiu announced that, at the next meeting of the Assembly Presidency, the dispatch of a representative of this body to the Working Group will be proposed.
According to her, the September 16 judgment was unjust and inaccurate, while the appeal phase requires a united state approach, inter-institutional coordination and full support from the institutions.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti had previously announced that Glauk Konjufca would lead the Working Group.
Haxhiu stressed that the Assembly would contribute to this institutional effort, with the aim of providing the former KLA leaders with the best possible defense in the appeal process.
She also reiterated her position that the KLA’s war was just and liberating, stating that this truth would continue to be defended and affirmed.
