Haradinaj: Declaration approved in parliament has value only if the law abolishing the Special Court is passed

Following parliament’s approval of the declaration on the verdict by the Specialist Chambers against former KLA leaders, former MP Daut Haradinaj described the initiative as belated.

According to Haradinaj, the declaration, approved 13 days after the guilty verdict, would only make sense if parliament passed the law abolishing the Special Court within this week. He described all other developments, including behind-the-scenes meetings, as political calculations.

Haradinaj also objected to the approach of focusing the debate on the length of the sentence, describing it as incompatible with the position of Albanians, who, he said, took to the squares of the world with the call: “Not in my name.”
