Hafir Hoxha urges AAK to use its connections to bring Kosovo closer to NATO

Former military officer Hafir Hoxha has called on Ramush Haradinaj and AAK’s security experts to use their contacts and resources to help Kosovo join NATO as soon as possible.

Hoxha recalled that, during the most recent election campaign, AAK said through its experts that it had friends, connections and strategies to bring the country closer to NATO. He therefore asked why the party was not taking action now that it is in opposition.

According to him, Kosovo’s security and future are matters for all citizens, including AAK, regardless of who is in power. Hoxha said that, if he were able to help this process, he would do so without seeking positions or personal or party benefits. He described contributing to the country as a civic and national responsibility, not a means of political bargaining.

Addressing Haradinaj, whom he called a friend, and his experts, Hoxha urged them to commit unconditionally to the goal they have said they know how to achieve and are capable of delivering. He expressed confidence that the Assembly and the Government would not obstruct them but would help them with this task.

Hoxha also asked why AAK and its experts were no longer speaking about or working on this project, recalling that Kosovo had allies even before it became a state. He said the opposition should also make use of its connections and friends.

To illustrate the need for everyone to contribute, he cited the example of a family in which tasks are divided according to age, ability and experience: one person goes to the market, another tends the livestock, another gathers firewood, while others attend celebrations or occasions of mourning. In this spirit, Hoxha called for Haradinaj to be given the opportunity to carry out this task for the good of the country, if he has the military and security knowledge and experience he has promised.
