Gucati: Without changes to the law on the Specialist Chambers, we may pitch tents in front of the government

Hysni Gucati, chairman of the KLA War Veterans Organization, has warned that further action will be taken if Kosovo’s government fails to approve amendments to the Law on the Specialist Chambers.

Gucati said that continuous meetings had been held over the past two weeks to mobilize citizens and ensure the largest possible turnout at the announced protest.

He also declared that the October 1 protest in Pristina would be open to everyone, calling on veterans, the families of martyrs and war invalids to participate.

“Yes, it is true. If the amendments to the Law on the Specialist Court are not approved, we will not stand idly by. We will take further steps, and over the weekend the leadership and the Council will sit down for discussions, together with the two other associations, the association of holders and the association of martyrs,” Gucati said.

Among the measures under consideration is camping in tents in front of the Kosovo government building.

“We will make the government’s work more difficult. We will try this if it does not reconsider. One example is that we will stay in tents in front of the government. We will see in the coming days; this has been discussed,” Gucati said.
