Gërvalla urges Valley Albanians to support the Albanian Coalition with their vote on October 25

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla has issued an appeal to the Albanians of Preševo, Bujanoc and Medvegjë to vote. She urged them to choose the Albanian Coalition, number 17, on October 25, in order to strengthen their representation in the Parliament of Serbia.

In a Facebook post, Gërvalla described a strong presence of Albanian representatives in this parliament as essential, linking this need to what she described as systematic discrimination and the denial of rights.

In her post, she emphasized that systematic discrimination, the denial of rights and ongoing injustices by the Serbian state make stronger representation for Albanians in the Parliament of Serbia necessary.

According to Gërvalla, local and international institutions must keep the violations of Albanians’ rights in the Preševo Valley in focus.

Her appeal to exercise the right to vote was addressed to Albanians both in the Valley and in the diaspora. She said that higher voter turnout could strengthen their voice and representation in the Parliament of Serbia.
