Gërvalla Responds to LDK Statements

Acting Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla has reacted to comments by LDK lawmakers regarding Kosovo’s relations with the United States of America.

She said it is an insult to the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo to claim that LDK lawmakers are protecting America from the Government of Kosovo.

Gërvalla also said it is untrue and offensive to say that relations between Kosovo and the United States are determined through gas sales.

“We have built a partnership with the United States through investments worth 200 million euros. On the contrary, we are cooperating with the United States of America in the energy sector,” she said.

According to Gërvalla, Kosovo has consistently supported the strategic actions of the United States, stressing that there has not been a single American strategic step that the country was not among the first to publicly support.

“We know who our true friend is,” Gërvalla said.
