Gervalla Announces Government Decisions on the Bar Association

Acting Minister of Justice Donika Gervalla announced the decisions taken a day earlier by the caretaker government, which relate to the Bar Association within the Ministry of Justice.

According to her, the government approved three decisions.

The first decision provides for the suspension of the implementation of the Regulation on the admission and handling of telephone calls in the system for appointing lawyers by official duty (ex officio) of the Kosovo Bar Association, until a final decision is made by the competent court.

Likewise, the implementation of the administrative act on the amount of the registration costs of the Kosovo Bar Association has also been suspended, pending the final decision of the competent court.

Meanwhile, with the third decision, the Commission for the Compensation of Crime Victims was appointed.

Gervalla said these decisions “reflect the commitment of our institutions to strengthening the rule of law, guaranteeing legality in administrative actions, and advancing the protection of citizens’ rights, with a particular focus on equal access to justice and institutional support for victims of crime.”
