German diplomat calls for swift government formation in Kosovo, warns of political deadlock risk

Germany’s representative in Pristina, Ambassador Reiner Rudolph, called today for Kosovo to install its new governing bodies without delay, underlining the importance of this step for the country’s political stability and institutional efficiency.

During a discussion with journalists, Mr. Rudolph stressed that the country must send a clear message about who will lead it in the next four-year term.

“What I am thinking is that Kosovo must now send a signal about who will build its institutions for the four years ahead. I am aware that negotiations and procedures are underway, but I honestly believe it would be positive to see the institutions ready as soon as possible and not to enter another cycle of uncertainty,” the German ambassador stated.

The diplomat acknowledged that the dialogue process for creating the new structures is in progress, but emphasized the necessity of its swift conclusion to avoid a new stage of instability in Kosovo.
