Gasoline Explodes During Speedboat Repair in Porto Palermo, Injuring Four People

Four people were injured after gasoline caught fire while they were repairing the engine of a speedboat in Porto Palermo, Himarë.

The incident occurred just minutes ago on the coast, where the four individuals were working on the vessel’s engine.

The flames were caused by contact with the gasoline, and all four people suffered burns to various parts of their bodies. To escape the flames, they jumped into the sea, while one of them suffered multiple burns.

Following the incident, the injured individuals were initially taken to Himarë Hospital for medical assistance. The extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.

Police arrived at the scene and began verifying the causes and circumstances of the incident.

At around 19:20, four individuals presented themselves for medical treatment at the Himarë Health Center after suffering burns to various parts of their bodies.

According to preliminary verifications, during the repair of a speedboat’s engine in Porto Palermo, citizens XH.I, 40, A.O, 38, M.M, 25, and A.D, 18, were burned after coming into contact with gasoline.

The four injured individuals were subsequently transported to the Vlorë Regional Hospital, where they will receive more specialized medical care.

The investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecution Office, is continuing its work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
