Gashi-Hyseni Meeting: Need to Strengthen Fight Against Financial Crime Emphasized

The Director of the Tax Administration of Kosovo, Mentor Hyseni, was received by the Chief State Prosecutor, Zejnulla Gashi, in a meeting where the expansion of inter-institutional cooperation to combat financial crime was discussed.

During the conversation, Hyseni first extended congratulations to Gashi on assuming the new position. Subsequently, the main issues focused on improving joint efficiency in tackling criminal offenses such as money laundering, tax evasion, and other forms of economic crime, with the aim of consolidating the rule of law in the country.

An important point of the meeting was the more committed implementation of the existing memorandum between the Office of the Chief Prosecutor and ATK. This document provides for data sharing through an intelligence-led investigative platform, which is expected to significantly increase effectiveness in the fight against corruption, money laundering, and organized crime.
