Gara announces the identification of three victims following initial DNA results from Jabuka

Initial DNA analysis results have made it possible to identify three victims from the human remains found at three locations, Kushtrim Gara announced.

According to him, the victims are Idriz Rrecaj, Salim Meziu and Adem Beqiri.

Gara explained that the human remains belong to people from the group of intellectuals, abductees and persons forcibly disappeared.

One of the sites where exhumations have been carried out is Jabuka, from where the first DNA analysis results have also arrived.

He said that four to six samples had been sent for examination from the mass grave in Jabuka.

So far, a total of 29 samples from 25 bodies have been sent for DNA analysis. Gara said that, if necessary, additional samples would also be sent.

Meanwhile, in a statement to Dukagjini, he said that, according to the assessments, 29 samples from 23 bodies had been sent and that the first DNA reports had already been received.

The identification process will continue for the remaining human remains, while samples from the other locations will be sent for analysis after the exhumations are completed.
