From October 1, higher salaries for the president and judges of the Constitutional Court in Macedonia

Starting from October 1 of this year, the president and judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia will receive higher salaries compared with those currently provided for under the Law on Salaries and Other Compensation of Elected and Appointed Persons in the State, “360 Degrees” writes.

This comes after the Constitutional Court on Wednesday annulled the February 2026 amendments, but only in the part concerning the coefficient of the President of the Constitutional Court and its judges. As a result, their salaries will be calculated according to the legal provisions of 2024, when the coefficients were higher, Telegrafi Macedonia reports.

In essence, this is the outcome of the constitutional judges’ decision to strike down the amendments to the Law from February of this year that applied to them and had reduced the coefficients for calculating the salaries of all officials.

The decision was made at the session held on June 17. This issue did not attract major public attention, partly because at the same session the renaming of streets and squares in Tetovo from 2007 was also annulled, which means the old names will be restored.
