From Macron in dark glasses to Rama in white sneakers and Meloni with her stance, The Guardian publishes striking photos from the NATO Summit in Ankara

British media outlet The Guardian has published some of the most striking photographs of world leaders during the NATO Summit in Ankara. The prestigious British newspaper highlights the outfit of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who once again chose white sneakers instead of black shoes for the ceremony.

Rama’s sneakers became a talking point during the family photo, when, as they were taking their positions, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte pointed out Rama’s white sneakers to US President Donald Trump.

“In NATO summit fashion news, Albanian prime minister Edi Rama appeared in his trademark snow-white sneakers,” The Guardian wrote.

Special attention was also paid to the glasses worn by French President Emmanuel Macron.

“There was no major development during the arrivals, but it is worth noting that French president Emmanuel Macron has gone back to wearing his trademark aviator glasses, even indoors. When he first appeared in them at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting earlier this year, it was said the reason was a burst blood vessel in his eye. His look drew a lot of attention and led to a wave of new orders for the glasses manufacturers he wears. He has been wearing them again for about a week. Could the eye problem have returned?” The Guardian asked.

As for the Italian prime minister, who is known for her facial expressions, The Guardian chose to write just one sentence. As often happens, Italy’s Giorgia Meloni makes her stance on today’s meeting very clear.

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever also drew attention, commenting on the summit by saying that NATO’s decision to provide 70 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine is a strong message to Putin. He added ironically that “a red card cannot simply be withdrawn,” referring to the alliance’s decisions.
