First Gentleman” named the best production at the Dibër Festival

The 25th edition of the “Albanian Theater in Macedonia” Festival in Dibër ended on Tuesday at the city’s Cultural Center. The closing-night program began with the monodrama “Psychosis,” based on motifs by Sarah Kane and directed by Besfort Idrizi, followed by the awards ceremony.

The jury, composed of Hismet Ramadani, Lesh Nikolla and Faik Gashi from Pristina, announced the winners before the audience in Dibër, which once again filled the Cultural Center’s hall.

The main award for best production went to the Albanian Theater in Skopje for the production “First Gentleman.” Visar Etemi was named best leading actor, while the award for best leading actress went to Dibër native Yllka Nuredini.

The scenography award was presented to the Kumanovo Theater by the festival’s professional jury.

The festival director, Ylber Nuredini, described the 25th edition as highly successful and praised the participating theaters’ high professional level. He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Municipality of Dibër and Slice Company for supporting the event.

On behalf of the Municipality of Dibër, Secretary Lumi Croj welcomed the festival and said that the local government would continue supporting the Albanian Theater Festival in Macedonia. /V.S/
