Fire near Graçan continues on both sides of the border, with helicopters and air tractors involved in operation

Army and police helicopters, together with air tractor aircraft from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, were deployed this morning to assist Skopje firefighters and the directorate’s teams using Pinzgauer vehicles in battling the large fire near the village of Graçan. The flames remain active both in North Macedonia and Kosovo.

To obtain water for the firefighting operation, an army helicopter is refilling at the mouth of the Lepenac River where it flows into the Vardar.

According to an earlier statement by the Crisis Management Center, a total of 31 outdoor fires were recorded over the past 24 hours. These include the fire near the village of Graçan. One fire remains active, three are under control, while 27 have been extinguished.
