Fire extinguished at paint and plaster warehouse in Skopje

The flames that broke out at around 5 p.m. this afternoon at a paint and plaster warehouse on Aleksandar Makedonski Boulevard, in the area of the former Zhelezara industrial complex in Skopje, have been completely extinguished, official services said.

Because of the materials stored in the warehouse, a dense cloud of black smoke formed over the scene and was visible from several parts of the city.

Twenty firefighters and six vehicles from the Fire Brigade took part in extinguishing the blaze, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) reported.

The fire was initially brought under control and was later completely extinguished. So far, there have been no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire remains unclear. The relevant teams will inspect the scene and are then expected to provide further details about the circumstances that led to the outbreak of the flames.
