Filipçe Urges Mickoski to Publish Gostivar Water Test Results Immediately and Clarify Contradictory Statements

During today’s parliamentary question session, LSDM leader Venko Filipçe strongly criticized Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski. He directly accused him of allowing the Government’s incompetence, corruption and lies to harm citizens.

According to Filipçe, the Government’s approach is becoming more apparent to the public by the day. He said that even its “strong” PR campaign was no longer working, as people had lost trust, the masks had come off and reality could no longer be concealed.

The LSDM leader said the institutions had failed to provide answers regarding the successive cases of water contamination across the country. As he stressed, citizens are not being informed about the health risks, while no one is being held accountable for poisoning them.

Filipçe cited Gostivar, Valandovo, Skopje and several other municipalities, claiming that the water was contaminated in half the country. He asked who was responsible, who had carried out the inspections and why the results had not been properly reported and published.

At the same time, Filipçe called on the Government to publish the results of the Gostivar water tests without delay and put an end to the conflicting information coming from the institutions.

He demanded an explanation as to why the Gostivar test results remained unpublished and why the prime minister and the health minister were making contradictory statements. Filipçe said it was initially claimed that the water was safe to drink, but it was later clarified that it was only technically compliant, adding that citizens were confused and did not know what to do or whom to trust.
