Filipçe: SDSM ready for elections at any time, government has fulfilled only 5% of its promises

Venko Filipçe, the leader of SDSM, said the party he heads is fully prepared for early elections, but stressed that the debate should not focus on personal “challenges,” but on the government’s record in delivering on its promises.

According to Filipçe, the current executive has managed to implement only 5 percent of the program on which it won the electorate’s trust. Instead of explaining this poor performance, he accused the government of seeking to evade responsibility by provoking another electoral contest.

“The point is not whether one person challenges another to elections. In a parliamentary democracy, performance is assessed on the basis of the government program. They promised everything before the vote but delivered nothing. Only five percent. And now they are seeking an electoral challenge,” the SDSM leader said.

Regarding the government’s relations with the Democratic Union for Integration, Filipçe recalled that his party had warned about these developments. “We warned some time ago about their cooperation with DUI,” he added.

The SDSM leader also reiterated concerns raised several months ago over the misuse of funds related to the independence celebrations. “We said they were preparing a scheme to embezzle money through these celebrations,” Filipçe claimed, although he presented no evidence or specific details to support the allegation during his statement.

In closing, he reaffirmed that his political party is not afraid of a new electoral test. “We are prepared for elections whenever they are held, and the truth always comes to light,” Filipçe concluded.
