Ferizaj protest for justice for Arlinda Zekaj with march toward institutions

Activists in Ferizaj have announced that on October 29, at 12:00, they will hold a protest demanding justice for Arlinda Zekaj.

The gathering will begin in front of the Ferizaj Municipality and, according to the organizers, will continue with stops near several public institutions.

The marchers plan to stop at the Center for Social Work, the Police Station and the Court, where they will demand justice and accountability from the institutions.

The organizing team said in a press release that the protest aims to demand accountability following the killing of Arlinda Zekaj in Vitomirica, Peja.

“We call on the media to cover the protest and our demand for justice and institutional accountability,” the statement said.

The protest in Ferizaj follows reactions and gatherings in Pristina, where citizens have called for an investigation into the actions of the responsible institutions and measures to protect women from violence.

Arlinda Zekaj was killed in Vitomirica, Peja. Before her killing, she had raised concerns about her safety with the competent institutions.
