Family tragedy in Skopje, son ends father’s life with a knife

A serious incident shook the capital of North Macedonia on Tuesday evening, where a family conflict ended in murder. Police have arrested a 31-year-old man, suspected of taking his parent’s life after a violent quarrel.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the case was reported around 22:30, in their apartment located in the area known as “Bit Pazar”. According to preliminary information, the 52-year-old E.L., who had previously consumed alcohol, physically assaulted his 54-year-old wife, who is the suspect’s mother.

At that critical moment, the couple’s son, identified as B.Xh., intervened by stabbing his father with a sharp object. The injuries caused were fatal for the 52-year-old, who died at the scene.

Law enforcement officers managed to locate and arrest the suspected perpetrator around 23:00, while the injured mother was rushed to the “Shën Naumi i Ohrit” City General Hospital to receive necessary medical treatment.

By order of the public prosecutor, the victim’s body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy procedure.
