Excavations for mass grave in Kalludër, Zubin Potok, Gërvalla awaits precise confirmations

Donika Gërvalla, the acting Minister of Justice, closely inspected the works in the village of Kalludër e Vogël in Zubin Potok, where excavations are being carried out for the remains of 23 persons who disappeared without a trace during the 1999 conflict.

She emphasized that the teams are working to high professional standards and hopes that clear and indisputable conclusions will soon be reached. According to her, the main goal remains informing the families about the fate of the missing, so that they may have the opportunity to perform burial rites.

Referring to the process on the ground, Gërvalla called for patience and avoidance of premature statements. She underlined the importance of allowing experts to carry out their work without interference, in order to correctly determine the number of victims and the circumstances of their location.

The minister assessed as a positive development the fact that excavations have begun and have yielded initial results. She added that this daily, weekly and monthly commitment of institutions shows full dedication to clarifying the fate of the missing persons. Finally, Gërvalla reiterated the necessity of maintaining continuous pressure on Serbia, both for opening the archives and for handing over all the missing, with the ultimate aim that such tragedies never be repeated in the country.
