The family of 32-year-old Erin Piacenti has shared heartbreaking details following her killing in a stabbing attack in Times Square, central New York.

Erin, who served as a vice president at Bank of America, was known for more than just her professional success. To those close to her, she was a devoted wife, a beloved daughter and a new mother who had just begun an important chapter in her life.

She leaves behind her daughter Madison, who is only five months old.

“Erin should not be remembered for how her life ended, but for how she chose to live it,” the 32-year-old’s family said.

Relatives say Erin was deeply devoted to her family and friends, highly accomplished in her profession and someone who brought warmth and vitality to everyone around her.

According to the description on the fundraising page for Madison, becoming a mother had been Erin’s greatest dream, while her daughter had brought her the greatest joy of her life.

Erin and Frank Piacenti met while studying at Fordham University Law School. Both later pursued careers in the legal and business sectors.

On August 10, 2024, the couple married and began building the life they had imagined. They celebrated their wedding anniversary, returned from a family trip and were planning their future together with their newborn daughter.

A year before the incident, Erin and Frank had bought their first home in Chester, New Jersey, where they had begun creating their family life.

“They were thinking about the future and the life they would build with their daughter. In an instant, everything changed in an unimaginable way,” the family said.

The family is now focused on Madison’s future, as she will grow up without her mother. For this reason, a fundraising campaign has been created, asking those who wish to honor Erin’s memory to help secure the little girl’s future.

Her loss has also affected Bank of America. Erin had worked there for about 18 months as a vice president in the Business Selection and Conflicts Group.

Her colleagues remember her as a skilled professional and a kind person. The bank, for its part, expressed its sorrow over the death of “a cherished colleague and friend.”

According to authorities, Erin Piacenti was stabbed by Pamela Cisneros, 49, a mother of three and Queens resident who had chronic mental health problems.

Tak Kam, 68, a father from Rhode Island, was also seriously injured in the same incident.

New York police officers shot Cisneros dead after, according to authorities, she attempted to attack them while holding a knife in each hand.

Erin was killed just as she had begun building the family she had dreamed of. She leaves behind her husband and young daughter, who will one day come to know her mother through the memories of those who loved her.
