Justice Minister Toni Gogu has sent official responses to Bledi Çuçi and Fatmir Xhafaj regarding the transfer of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj from Durrës prison to the penitentiary institution in Fier, Anila Hoxha reports.
A response from the General Directorate of Prisons is also expected, after Minister Gogu ordered an inspection into the 24 transfers of inmates carried out over the past 11 days.

According to sources, the inspection will examine whether the procedures followed for these transfers complied with the rules. The findings are expected to be made public after the Prisons Directorate issues its official response.
