According to Dasho, ensuring hygiene in the food service sector is the first and most important measure. He called for staff to receive mandatory training in proper handwashing, particularly foreign workers from Asian countries such as India and other regions.
Poultry meat, especially chicken, and eggs are considered among the products carrying the greatest risk if they are not properly prepared. The physician stressed that they must be boiled or cooked thoroughly, while many restaurants have removed raw eggs from their recipes to prevent the presence of the bacteria.
The risk may also be present in fruit and leafy vegetables. Experts explain that these products can become contaminated through the use of organic fertilizer, so they must be washed and cleaned carefully before consumption.
