Ergys Agasi’s arrest, lawyer Maks Haxhia speaks out: He did not participate in tenders or touch the finances! We want the case file

Lawyer Maks Haxhia visited Ergys Agasi in his cell. Agasi was arrested the previous day. Speaking to reporters, he said they want the full investigation file to be made available to them.

According to him, the defense cannot make concrete claims without access to the documents in the case file.

The lawyer said that Agasi claims he bears no legal responsibility in connection with the charges under investigation. He argued that his client did not hold any state positions related to the management of public finances and did not participate in public tenders.

“This is the first meeting as we prepare for the proceedings concerning the verification of the measure, which is detention in prison. We want the case file. It is shameful because, although we submitted a request, we addressed the ILD and were denied a right, because without the file we cannot raise any claims. Mr. Agasi claims that he bears no legal responsibility whatsoever. He claims—and it is a fact—that he did not touch public finances, because he did not hold positions within the authorities that manage public finances. He also did not participate in public tenders,” the lawyer said.
