Emigrant from Italy at Protest: Balla Called Us Crows and Magpies, but He Is a Worm! Rama Has Sold Albania, the President Is Not Defending the Constitution

The protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government has entered its 64th day outside the Prime Minister’s Office, with many Albanians who have come from the diaspora also taking the floor after joining the rally.

Among them was an emigrant living in Italy, who expressed his anger at the government and responded harshly to statements by the ruling majority. He leveled serious accusations against Minister Taulant Balla and demanded to know what role the President of the Republic is playing in the situation facing the country.

Speaking outside the Prime Minister’s Office, the emigrant said he had lived in Italy for 32 years but had come to the protest because he was proud of his Albanian roots. Addressing Edi Rama, he accused him of having sold Albania and said he no longer represented its people.

He also objected to being labeled “crows and magpies,” for which he blamed Taulant Balla. The emigrant called the minister a “worm,” saying that worms live underground, while crows and magpies remain above ground and clean it. According to him, Balla is the one making the country stink.

Finally, the protester asked whether the country has a President and where the head of state is when the laws and the Constitution are not being upheld. He stressed that corruption must be fought in Albania.
