Durupınar Formation Reopens Debate Over Noah’s Ark: Radar Detects Unusual Underground Structures

A boat-shaped rock formation in the mountains of eastern Turkey may not be merely a natural geological creation, as has long been believed.

The international team investigating the Durupınar site, near Mount Ararat, suspects the formation may conceal remains linked to Noah’s Ark.

The biblical narrative says that a large vessel saved Noah, his family and the animals from a devastating flood, which, according to some biblical chronologies, occurred more than 4,300 years ago.

A recent analysis using radar technology has identified significant underground anomalies, as well as distinct layers within the formation, which stretches for about 157 meters. These findings have raised questions about the theory that it is a single, uniform mass of rock.

The study is led by Dr. Khosrow Bakhtar and was conducted using BakhtarRadar, a specialized imaging device developed through research by the U.S. Air Force. The system is designed to penetrate deeper below the surface than previous scans.

The next stage of the research will involve a comprehensive review of the data and drilling at the site to collect samples. In this way, the researchers aim to determine whether the anomalies are the result of natural processes or are linked to man-made structures. A definitive answer will depend on future analyses and physical evidence that may be recovered from underground.
