Durrës, explosive device attached to a mobile phone deactivated

RENEA bomb disposal experts successfully deactivated a quantity of explosive material attached to a mobile phone, which was found abandoned on a street in Durrës’ No. 3 neighborhood.

After being notified of the suspicious object, Durrës Police services quickly cordoned off the area and established a security perimeter to protect citizens.

RENEA’s bomb disposal specialists arrived at the scene and successfully carried out the procedure to deactivate the small quantity of explosive material, completely eliminating the risk of an explosion.

Meanwhile, the investigative team set up for the case, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is continuing its fieldwork to examine the material evidence, fully clarify the circumstances and identify the people responsible for abandoning or placing the object.
