Durrës, anti-noise checks begin in tourist areas; music venues are monitored

Police structures in Durrës have begun implementing a plan of measures aimed at ensuring public safety during the summer period, with emphasis on noise pollution in coastal areas.

Simultaneously with inspections, awareness meetings have been organized with managers and owners of businesses whose activities generate noise through music.

Based on the mapping of areas affected by noise pollution, public safety units at the Durrës Police Station have deployed special monitoring teams. These checks are being carried out both indoors and outdoors at businesses operating in tourist areas.

During the checks, special equipment was used to measure noise levels, enforcing Law No. 9774, dated 12.07.2007 “On the management of environmental noise,” as amended. According to police data, measurements taken according to set standards have been within permitted parameters.

Besides noise levels, authorities have also inspected compliance with the designated schedule for music in open areas near residential zones, which starts at 11:00 AM and ends at midnight.

The Durrës Police reaffirm their commitment to ensuring a quiet and safe environment for both local residents and holidaymakers throughout the tourist season.
