DUI calls for Jeton Shasivari’s resignation after a week of silence following the announcement of the verdict

DUI has reiterated its call for the resignation of Minister of Justice Jeton Shasivari, emphasizing that a week has passed since the verdict against former KLA leaders was announced, while he has still not issued any statement.

According to DUI, Shasivari had spoken before the verdict was announced, when, in a statement described as scandalous, he equated the victim with the aggressor and called for respect for a decision that at the time had not yet been made public.

The party recalls that the minister had promised that after the verdict was announced, he would address Kosovo and its citizens with a message. However, a week later, DUI says that both the message and accountability are missing.

Now that the verdict has been announced, Shasivari continues to remain silent, DUI says.

DUI stresses that the minister’s silence does not erase the statement he made earlier, nor the political responsibility arising from it.

“The Minister of Justice cannot remain silent at a time when he must be held accountable,” the statement said.

DUI demands full accountability and reiterates its position that Jeton Shasivari should resign.
