Debate in the Legislation Committee as PDK lawmakers leave meeting over Special Chambers bill

The meeting of the Legislation Committee was met with criticism from PDK lawmaker Blerta Deliu-Kodra because the agenda did not include the bill amending and supplementing the Law on the Specialist Chambers of Kosovo.

Deliu-Kodra announced that she and lawmaker Përparim Gruda would leave the meeting, saying that consideration of the bill should be given high priority.

“I find it completely unserious that the Legislation Committee was convened and six agenda items are being addressed today, while the law on the Specialist Chambers has not been included. The PDK believes that, under these circumstances, there is no greater priority. Mr. Gruda and I will not remain at the committee meeting and, after Mr. Gruda’s discussion, we will leave the meeting,” Deliu-Kodra declared.

According to Përparim Gruda, the bill on the Specialist Chambers is of particular importance. He added that committee members could not clearly know what they would approve during a meeting convened to address the other items.

Meanwhile, the Alliance is expected to join the PDK in leaving the meeting.
