Day 51 of Protest Ends with Message “More Tomorrow” as Citizens Demand Rama’s Departure

The anti-government protest, held for the 51st day, has ended. Thousands of citizens continue to gather in the capital, demanding political change and the departure of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

During the march through the streets of Tirana, chants of “Edi Rama, resign,” “Your end has come,” “Rama in prison, Berisha in prison,” and “Albania demands a revolution” were heard. Citizens voiced their dissatisfaction with the political class, accusing it of corruption and a lack of representation.

Participants also directed criticism at Parliament, describing it as an institution that does not serve citizens’ interests. The slogans “No more Zegjine,” “140 MPs, all illiterate,” and “Parliament of crime” were also chanted during the march.

Carrying placards and chanting against the ruling majority, the protesters said they would not end their resistance. According to them, their demands are non-negotiable.

One activist urged citizens to continue taking part, saying: “On the 23rd, we must be here; we must not be absent.”

For 51 days, the protest’s main demand has been Rama’s departure and a profound change in the way the country is governed.
