Sunday’s protest, on its 134th day, went ahead despite the rain. Citizens gathered in Skanderbeg Square and then marched toward Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, where they delivered speeches and conveyed their messages against the government.
During the gathering, protesters chanted slogans such as “Rama, resign,” “Down with the government” and “Albania is making a revolution.” After the speeches in front of the Prime Minister’s Office ended, they continued marching through the capital’s streets.
At the end, participants said they would continue their stand in the days ahead.
The resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government remains the protesters’ main demand. During the demonstrations held so far, citizens have also called for the creation of a technical government and changes to the political system.
