Cybersecurity expert reacts to the publication of 720 SHISH numbers: There is no official denial, agents could be exposed

During an interview on the News24 program, Besmir Semanaj, a cybersecurity specialist, commented on the publication of a list containing more than 700 telephone numbers allegedly belonging to staff members of the State Intelligence Service (SHISH).

Semanaj explained that the list contains approximately 720 telephone contacts, which are suspected to be part of materials obtained by the hacker group known as “Homeland Justice.”

The expert said that the leaked documents include an agreement with Vodafone and an invoice from 2022, in which SHISH appears as the service user.

He added that, so far, no official institution has stated that the published numbers are inaccurate.

“We are dealing with a Vodafone contract that was accessed by the ‘Homeland Justice’ hacker group. It concerns an invoice from 2022. SHISH is the party that signed the contract. So far, there has been no denial that these numbers are valid. Citizens report that they are SHISH numbers. This is a serious matter that puts the work of the people serving at this institution at risk.

“Although there has been no denial from the authorities, given that the well-known hacking incident, which reportedly brought down the systems, has not been officially acknowledged in Albania, this can be easily verified. The document bears a stamp, a contract number and is a regular invoice. I would like this not to be true. More than 700 numbers are included. The identities of the individuals could be exposed. Some journalists have checked through various programs and managed to see their names. If the list proves to be accurate, then the list of agents has been made public,” Semanaj declared.
